We love our Friday news days! Here are some cool updates from WooThemes, Easy Digital Downloads, and some great WordPress tutorials:

  • We wrote about the WooCommerce 2.1 release last week. If you’re looking for some more information, we recommend checking these links out:
  • Speaking of WooThemes products, they just updated the model for their theme club. Rather than pay a monthly subscription for access to all themes, members can now purchase annual subscriptions to the theme club and can renew for a 50% discount prior to membership expiration, which makes the theme club consistent with the model for the rest of their products. Existing members are grandfathered in for one year. They’ve also released a new portfolio plugin to showcase projects.
  • Easy Digital Downloads released the Wish Lists extension this week, which gives customers the ability to save and share their favorite products on your site. It’s set at an introductory price of $49, but will be increasing in price soon so grab it now!
  • If you want to change the default labels in the Wish Lists extension, check out this tutorial from Sumobi.
  • We usually advocate using plugins for functionality instead of a theme; this post on data portability from WP Tavern gives further explanation why.
  • If you’re learning WordPress or want resources to teach clients, you should check out the discounted WP101 membership from Mighty Deals. You’ll save big on a lifetime membership, as it’s discounted from $79 to just $19, and the videos are great.
  • BobWP Tutorials also just launched, which covers WordPress basics and offers a few free tutorial videos.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend!
