This week’s eCommerce news:

  • AffiliateWP released a free add-on this week that lets affiliates promote you on a site that doesn’t contain your shop, but then pass the referral information to your shop site to accurately track referrals. This is a great way to let customers land on a marketing site from an affiliate referral, but then send them to a purchasing site while still tracking affiliate sales.

  • WooThemes released Sensei version 1.8 this week, which includes improvements to the teacher role (they can now completely manage their own courses), integration with Product Vendors to let teachers earn commissions on courses via WooCommerce, and a few other new features.

  • Easy Digital Downloads has made changes to their support system so that support is now offered via email instead of support forums.

  • EDD has also released a Sendy extension for email marketing with Sendy.

  • Here’s an interesting WooCommerce case study from Prospress on using WooCommerce to start a sunglasses company.

  • If you sell a subscription product on your site, this article from Chris Lema on avoiding involuntary churn is a great tip.

  • Social networks like Pinterest and Instagram focus heavily on images and are a great way to promote products. Shopify posted some great insights into how Pinterest drives sales, including the interesting stat that Pinterest is the second-leading social traffic source for Shopify stores (behind Facebook).

  • Crazy Egg has some tips on creating effective CTAs.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend!
